Yenepoya Foundation for Technology Incubation, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has been supported by the Department of Biotechnology - BIRAC under the National Biopharma Mission (NBM) for the establishment of Medical Devices Design and Rapid Prototyping Facility for accelerating medical device innovations. The program envisages to provide innovators and manufacturers easy availability of testing and prototyping facilities at an affordable price so as to support commercialisation of novel products in the area of medical devices and diagnostics. The primary focus is on generating technologies and products in the medical device sector with high market potential and greater cost effectiveness than current products in the market.

The Rapid Prototyping facility at Yenepoya Technology Incubator includes 3D Printers of various technologies such as DMLS (for metals including medical grade Titanium & Stainless Steel, etc.), FDM (for thermoplastics), SLA & DLP (for polymer liquid resins), SLS (for polymer powders), 3D Scanner, 5-Axis & 3-Axis CNCs, Water jet Cutter, Laser Cutters, and Mechanical Fab lab.
